Title: Struggle!

Description

The deadline doesn't care about your health.

SUFFER is a minimalist psychological horror game developed for the IIT BHU Technex '26 Game Jam. It explores the dark reality of the "grind" and the physical and mental costs of obsession.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a prototype game. It contains no graphics or environmental assets—the objects in the room are represented by simple primitive shapes (cubes). The focus is entirely on the atmospheric narrative and the core gameplay loop. Please give it a try for the experience and the message it conveys.

Theme & Interpretation

  • Theme: Chunk by Chunk The game's core loop requires the player to build their project "chunk by chunk." Every click adds a small piece of progress, but you cannot rush it. Success is a slow, iterative process of adding one block at a time until the project is complete.
  • Modification: Mood Swings This is represented by the Stress Mechanic. The game swings between the "Flow State" (productive progress) and "Burnout" (total paralysis). These "Mood Swings" dictate how you interact with the world—moving from a focused developer to a desperate soul forced to sacrifice their belongings to regain stability.

The Mechanics

  • The Loop: Build your game Chunk by Chunk (5% progress per click).
  • The Burnout: When your stress hits 100%, your "Mood" shifts into a state of paralysis.
  • The Sacrifice: To reset your mood and continue working, you must destroy your surroundings (Bed, Window, Door).

Controls

  • WASD: Move
  • Mouse: Look around
  • Left Click: Interact with PC / Sacrifice Objects
  • Start Game: Click through the tutorial to begin.
